Worlds of Star Trek- Lots and Objects

  1. Oh no! Not SimTrek too!

  2. Yeah. I just recently found out. I'm still shopping for another home for my creations.

  3. Oce, I was wondering, do you mind if I upload my medical accessory posebox (w/ the accessories) on my blog, or would you like to have it here? Either is fine by me - you made the original objects, after all. :) It's one of the few items I have that's been a SimTrek exclusive.

BTW, what's the Mjölnir project? I know what Mjölnir is, of course (I'd probably lose my Swedish citizenship if I didn't ;)), but I must have missed that download of yours because I don't recognise the name.

  4. Sorry, I've been out of it for a few weeks and don't check my comments very frequently. I'm o.k. with having the medical accesories hosted on your blog; you did the actual work of remapping and refoobulating them into accesories.

The Mjölnir project was a request I did for somebody a long time ago (and for the life of me I can't recall who). Essentially it's a Sutherland-type Nebula hull with the teeny tiny Melbourne-type nacelles stuck to the top of the pod. I was underwhelmed, but the person I made it for must have been pretty happy with it.

Again, RL sh*t has been extremely real, but I feel bad for not having answered you promptly.

The Planet Express link is broken and links to the Prometheus-class. Could you reupload that one for me please? And did you ever make a Firefly MK-III? It seems you use the engine as a prop in your stories, so I was wondering if you ever gave it a shiny new lick of paint.

I absolutely adore your stuff and you've helped make my bizarrely specific dreams of being a wizard running a bakery on a spaceship a Sim reality, so thank you. ;P

    1. Sorry for the delay; I didn't notice your comment. The Planet Express link should be fixed now.

To the best of my knowledge, the Firefly MK II was the latest one I built. It's been years since I've done any serious share-worthy lot building. I've been focused on other projects. Maybe someday I'll build a new Firefly lot.

I appreciate the feedback. Still scratching my head about the wizard running a bakery on a spaceship, but thank you.

Well, you provided the spaceships which is the ingredient sadly lacking from the unmodified game. Maybe it's a bit sacrilegious to assimilate them into cafes, shopping malls and bakeries like a borg with the munchies but I can and I will. And supernatural sims are just more fun. ;)

Thank you very much for fixing the download. ^.^

Also, there seems to be a few broken (flashing blue) textures in the Galaxy class science (all the glass boxes only have the front glass pane visible and the stellar navigator is borked too), ready room (end tables and desk) and conference room (desk/table) and bathroom (sink, head with divider) downloads on both ships and individual set downloads. I was going to add it in my first post but I needed to check what was and wasn't actually working first. Everything else is otherwise functional as far as I can tell.

    3. Strange. To be honest, I've phased most of these items out of my game as I replaced them with similar items in Modular Furniture Series 4. This set was made in 2009 (has it been that long?!). If memory serves, I never had any issues with the textures rendering correctly in game, and they render just fine in SimPE. I'll look into it, but I don't think the issue is with the objects themselves.

Aw, thank you. :) I can't imagine you were expecting anybody to be going over all your old stuff given your (sadly) small audience, and it's very graceful of you to look into this for me. I've been using the Modular Furniture Series 4 a lot too, but the stuff in your Galaxy Class Series 4 is great too and mixes with that set very well. And I can't know what any of the stuff here is like unless I download it and test it out, which rewards curiosity, so who knows when most of the stuff was made. Well, except you ofc. ;P

I seem to be having some trouble with some of the modular items I've just gotten around to testing as well (there's a lot, and I've only had them a few days!) The recurring pattern is items with glass in them. Most glass items in my game seem to work, but particular ones aren't and I can presume they're all using the same glass texture. And the problem can't be the items themselves, it must be something on my end.

    1. simminglikeitshotApril 5, 2015 at 2:04 PM

Could the problem be that they're all borrowing a texture from an object not included in the sets, but you and most people with your content already have? That might be a dumb question, I'm no expert haha.

    2. Hmmm. I can't be certain, but it sounds like an unrelated issue. I know with absolute certainty that the old Starfleet Academy bathroom stuff wasn't made using the repository technique, so the shower, toilet, and sink all have separate MMATs. Each object is a "master"; that is to say they don't pull the TXMT and/or TXTR from the other objects in the set, they're pretty much self-contained. As opposed to the modular bathroom stuff, where I think the entire set pulls its TXMTs from one or two objects. So if you have two completely unrelated objects rendering the flashing blue thingy, and it effects primarily glassy materials, it could be part of a larger issue such as problem CC or video settings. I'll do what I can on my end, but without more specific details on the issue I'm not sure there's much I can do to troubleshoot.

It can't be problem cc, because I removed everything except your stuff to double check. It has to be some sort of graphics compatability issue, but I just can't seem to find a solution for it anywhere. If I find something that works I'll let you know, if anyone else ever has this problem they might find it useful. :)

Graphic Rules Maker "high quality on Intel Graphics" setting fixed it. Thank you for looking into it for me anyway. :)

    5. No worries. I'm glad you were able to get it to work.
