Biobed Posebox update and new pose catalogs

I fixed a couple of poses on the bibed posebox and created full downloadable pose catalogs for the two medical poseboxes. I removed the biobed posebox from the original post; this is the only supported version. Also available at MyB Sims.

  1. Really awesome by the way but the doors," open and closed," do not show up in the download? Also, none of the enzyme tank stuff showed up either? Nice job and keep up the good work!

    1. Hi, Hank. Sorry for the confusion. This post is for the posebox and pose catalogs only. The sickbay/ medlab stuff can be found here: http://blueheavensims.blogspot.mx/2014/06/modular-furniture-series-4-sickbay-set-1.html and here: http://blueheavensims.blogspot.mx/2014/07/tools-series-2-sickbay-and-chemistry-lab.html

  2. Thanks but you said to report any problems? This is a problem? Have tried to download three or four time now and the cool stuff doesn't show? Will try your links again and thank you so much for being patient bro! By the way, what programs do you use to create all of this stuff? Love it! Would totally love to do this one day and pose boxes might be my main interest...maybe? Pretty much a pro in the body shop with clothes but want to do much more! If you don't mind steering me in the right direction with programs and such. Thanks my friend!

    1. To get started, you need MilkShape 3D (Version 1.78 or better), a good image editor such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, and the latest version of SimPE. I wouldn't recommend making a posebox your first object; you should be familiar with at least basic object creation (modifying the OBJD and TXTR resources) and BHAV editing (how the #STR, TTAB, TTAS, and BHAV work together).

In addition to Milkshape, you'll need WesH's Animesh tools: http://modthesims.info/t/239060
and Dr Pixel's base meshes for MilkShape: http://modthesims.info/t/239172
      There's a fairly good tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM5CTsUxfco

  3. Thanks for the quality info dude! Maybe, I can make some awesome stuff one day? By the way, the same things are not showing up in my game and have downloaded everyone of your files multiple times? Kinda confused myself? After unzipping the files and looking at the list, the doors open and closed do not show and none of the enzyme tank stuff show up? Have the recolors too! Not trying to be a bitch but could you make me a new bonus file with just this stuff? Disappointed that there is no meat with the gravy if you know what I mean? You rule and thanks bro!

    1. I'm not sure how that's even possible. The links are valid and if you follow them back to the original post and download the .rar file, all of the required meshes are inside the folder. I just checked the MediaFire and Box links again. Not a technical issue.

  4. There's a problem for me : the link opens box.com but it doesn't want to download. And I was so glad to get another pose box ! I've tried the other web site but it is the same link...

    1. So, I have tried and succeeded to make it functionable : sims (and pets) can relax (read and daydream), kids can jump too, but nobody (except pet - but I couldn't test it) can sleep in it (I'm trying but I can't download your pose...).

Moreover, it pulls your 3 textures (mattress, bed frame, and patient monitor texture are not in the bed package) and there's still the visual effect !
Then (and it was new for me) I enabled the recolors ! But I found out that only two subsets will be recolorable (I chose the mattress / pillow and the monitoring).

Perhaps should I have fixed the mattress instead ? Perhaps was it the reason you didn't made it functional ?

    2. Oups ...
I'm speaking about the patient Biobed B in the MFS4 that this pose box is meant for; :)

    3. Box is kind of fiddly sometimes. If neither of the links is working, just let me know and I'll set up a mirror at Sim File Share.

When I originally designed the set (two or three years ago), I tried to the beds functional objects. I wasn't thrilled with the animations. When the sim sleeps, the feet are twisted at a goofy angle and the sim sinks partially into the bed. When the sim relaxes, he/she floats above the bed and doesn't touch the mattress. So I made the objects as deco and poses to be compatible with them.

One huge limitation of Sims 2 has always been each object can only have two recolorable subsets. This, and the fact that I know next to nothing about creating object skeletons and custom animations, is why I made each object separately. The bases have two recolorable subsets (the base and the animated display) and the mattress is recolorable separately. Because I wasn't able to animate the objects, each carriage was made in two states: open and closed. I hope that helps.

    4. I was so waiting for your reply, thanks ! I'm happy because at last, I found a project that I can succeed to manage.

I understand for the sleep interaction but I have fight with the relax interaction and it works : surely because I've had a subset for the pillow, it is a little strange with your pillow underneath that won't move but it's barely noticeable (I can try to remove the pillow from your mesh but I haven't ever made any mesh in my life, so ...).
Actually, I have moded the mattress only, so that it can be recolorable. Perhaps will I create an interaction so that the doctor or nurse can had the mattress to the bed ...
For the sleep interaction, I was waiting for your pose box : the final result shouldn't need any OMSP, if I succeed. I tried again but it won't download. I never succeeded in downloaded any of your CC that way, always used the mediafire link ... But I'm not even sure it will be sufficient for me because I've only Blender, not Milkshape3D, and it's impossible to import sims 2 files. Unless you provides me the .smd or/and .ms3d file ... ;)
With the sitting pose, I could even had an interaction with the doctor examining the patient !
Last, I've succeeded in making an openable scan for the surgical Biobed B carriage !!!! (it will be easy to make the same for the others, now) And it keeps the visual and sonore effects. I'm so proud of me !

    5. I'm quite happy to have found a project that I seem to succeed in, so thanks to answer me.
I decided to use the mattress only in order to keep all the recolorable subset. I just have to add an option to the bed, so that the doctor or nurse "make the patient's bed" (create a mattress on top of it).

My relax interaction is not weird because I've added the pillow subset to the mesh, and I think the glinches are barely noticeable (we can see your moving pillow underneath ; on the surgical bed it floats a little). My solution are : removing the pillow in your mesh (but I've never meshed before ...) and make the surgical bed on wall only.
Moreover, I've made the BioBed B carriage openable ! And it keeps the sounds and visual effects. I will try to link it to the bed (like for the mattress : "Turon on the scan" interaction).

Last the main problem of this project : the sleep interaction. I think I could find a way to add your poses on the bed (the omsp won't be needed anymore, if I succeed), but I still can't download the files. Moreover, anytime I've downloaded your stuffs, it was by mediafire, because box have never worked for me ... In addition, it will work only approximately because I only have Blender and it can't import Sims 2 files. Unless you provide me with the .smd and/or .ms3d files...
With your box I could even add an interaction with the patient sitting and being examined by the doctor.

[my first comments didn't worked, so I repost : just make a comment if you don't want me to post anymore, otherwise I'll try somewhere else : it might be a bug]

  6. Extremely great artwork! With all the belonging objects and sets.
    Thank you! Super contents indeed.
Too bad that the above links point to dead downloads.
