Modular Furniture Series 4- Armory and Brig

Here's an awesome new set that I've been working on for a while. There's always been a shortage of good objects for the security section (armory and brig) for my starships and stations. Here, I've tried to remedy that.

The armory is a set of secured lockers that hold extracted deco objects from my Project 2395 set. They include mannequins, helmets, gear packs, and phasers.

The brig set is a set of completely modular, stackable objects, so that you can build your own brig just the way you like it.

There are a total of 76 new pieces in this set (plus the base objects so that you don't get the flashing blue in your game). The set includes:

As always, I have spent massive amounts of time playtesting this set. I tested each object individually, and hammered out all the kinks. As far as I've seen, there are no glitches and everything works exactly as it should as far as slave textures, joint alignment, placement, etc. Please feel free to report any issues.

A few notes about the project: Series 4 is a bit of a misnomer. Prior to this set, I've only made two other modular furniture sets. But as it complements the Cargo Bay Series 4 set, it seemed incongruent to name it Series 3. Unless otherwise noted, objects are base-game (See more specific descriptions below).

The focus of this set is to create unique security sections (bridges and armories). The build objects designed to be stacked together with other modular objects, giving your lots a built-in look, for more realistic sets and backdrops. This set can be mixed and matched with any other sets from Modular Furniture Series 4. As I am more of a storyteller/ dollhouser than an actual player, my main focus was on how good the objects look in-game, but they have been thoroughly playtested and work well for players who focus on gameplay, too.

Please read carefully: The single bed from the crew quarters set and the panels, consoles and wall panels from Bridge Set 1 provide some of the master textures for this set. The main objects are included in the folder, but if you don't have those sets installed, you'll need to download the recolors set separately.

As the repository technique is used, I have included the repository objects so you don't get flashing blue textures in your game. To keep the size of the file reasonable, THE RECOLORS FOR THESE  OBJECTS AREN'T INCLUDED. They can be downloaded from the RECOLORS THREAD.

Note: all files have been Compressorized.

Recoloring
Feel free to recolor any of the new objects. To extract a recolor, please select the MASTER file. The uniform mannequins are based on SynapticSim's biker boot outfit (see the link above), so the same texture you use in BodyShop can be applied to the mannequin recolors. The mannequins aren't alpha-editable, so make sure that your base texture has gloves.

Holding Cell Portal

A set of deco objects for building brig cells. Starting with a room 3 or 5 tiles wide, and as deep as you prefer, but leaving off the outer wall, place the barrier on the outside tile, then place your portal on the lead tile of the barrier. These are best as props; they don't really add functionality to the game.

Details:
Catalog: Electronics/ Misc. §600 (3-tile barrier), §1000 (5-tile barrier), §900 (3-tile portal), §1200 (5-tile portal)
Polys: 518 (barrier), 816 (Type 1 portal), 232 (Type 2 portal), 552 (Type 3 portal), 1688 (Type 4 portal), 188 (Type 5 portal)
Recolorable subsets: Base, panel
Egghead stuff: The barriers are solid, multi-tile deco objects. The portals are place-anywhere deco objects, pre-programmed with a small range of special effects (see below).

Holding Cell Benches

A set of benches for holding cell interiors. The railed bench is stand-alone; the wall bench can be stacked with deco objects for a more "built-in" look.

Details:
Catalog: Seating/ Sofas. §500 (loveseat), §800 (sofa)
Polys: 2658 (railed bench), 624 (wall bench, loveseat), 632 (wall bench, sofa)
Recolorable subsets: Base, cushion
Egghead stuff: They work exactly like maxis sofas and loveseats.

Holding Cell Bench Deco

Three objects to finish the "built-in" look for wall benches. The header is place-anywhere; the pillar and end cap are solid objects.

Details:
Catalog: Decorative/ Misc. §200 (header and pillar), §100 (end cap)
Polys: 36 (header), 32 (end cap), 116 (Pillar)
Recolorable subsets: Base, cushion
Egghead stuff: They're deco.

Brig Wall Panels

Deco panels for covering empty walls.

Details:
Catalog: Decorative/ Misc. §300
Polys: 586
Recolorable subsets: Base, panel
Egghead stuff: They're deco. Panel A is slaved to the backplate from Bridge Set 1 and Panel B is slaved to the runner from Bridge Set 1.

Security Desk

A special 3-tile desk. Only the center tile can hold a computer, but there are 3 deco slots designed to hold a special deco object.

Details:
Catalog: Surfaces/ Dining tables. §1000
Polys: 688
Recolorable subsets: Base, panel
Egghead stuff: The first and third slots are rotated to 50 degrees and -50 degrees on the Z axis, respectively. The center deco slot is placed farther back than the computer slot.

Security Desk Deco

Special deco for completing the look of the security desk. These are essentially miniature science lab scanners, converted to deco.

Details:
Catalog: Decorative/ Misc. §600
Polys: 78 (Deco A), 314 (Deco B)
Recolorable subsets: Base, panel
Egghead stuff: They're deco.

Multi-Console

A functioning, skill-building console. It builds logic and cleaning. It can be used with the same sidebars as the standing medical console. I've included the sidebars in the upload and in the collection file for convenience.

Details:
Catalog: Electronics/ Misc. §900
Polys: 112
Recolorable subsets: Base, panel
Egghead stuff: it can be used to build cleaning and logic skills. I changed the skill building strings slightly from the original object (the medical console). The sidebars from the medical console can be stacked next to it.

Effects

The holding cell portal comes with a small range of effects. You can select a glass barrier or one of four force fields.

Here are a few more shots of the brig I put together using this set (Note: some of the objects in the pictures are from other sets).

Here are the downloads. I've included a collection file for ease in locating the objects.

    1. I took some time off because I was experiencing creator's block. I just needed a bit of a break. I'm back now, and hopefully uploading regularly every 1-2 weeks. Thanks for the positive feedback.

  3. Just saw that you put this up. It's an amazing set! I like the design of the security and desk. I also like that there is separate brig furniture. That is a nice touch. Thanks again!

    1. Thanks much. I wanted to create a few items that were unique to the brig (i.e. that don't look like any other part of the ship/station).
