Midnight at Cargo Bay- Storage Essentials

Happy Friday, everybody.

Overview

The Midnight overproject represents a return to my roots: sci-fi stuff. My original vision was much like Modular Furniture Series 4. The difference is that whereas MFS4 was utopian and clean-ish, Midnight is more gritty, for creating sinister, dystopian sets. The objects are made from scratch by me, and thoroughly tested.

This is a big set. It's basically a re-imagining of Cargo Bay Series 4, but with newer Midnight assets. This is set is a two-parter. Storage Essentials contains the basic shelving units, as well as the closed version of all the cargo modules, some service vehicles to move the cargo around, and a few other goodies. The second part will contain the open version of the cargo modules, and will be published at a future date.

The file includes:

Build Mode: Two giant, deco cargo bay doors.

Cargo Modules: A set of deco objects in various sizes and shapes. Most of the objects have one or two deco slots coded into them, so that you can stack one on top on the other.

Cinematic Tools: A posebox and an SMSP, for poses 'n shit.

Service Vehicles: A set of vehicles with their own deco and posing slots. You can put your Sims in them for posing and add the cargo modules in the deco slots.

Shelving: Stackable, modular shelving for storing all your cargo modules.

Recolors:  Three cargo bay recolors for the door glass.

And of course a collection file.

I've included the master objects for the base and monitor textures in a separate folder. You don't need them if you already have Midnight at the Cryo Lab and Midnight at the Crew Quarters installed.

Midnight at the Cryo Lab- Recolor Pack 2

Happy Friday, everybody.

Overview

The Midnight overproject represents a return to my roots: sci-fi stuff. My original vision was much like Modular Furniture Series 4. The difference is that whereas MFS4 was utopian and clean-ish, Midnight is more gritty, for creating sinister, dystopian sets.

This is another team effort. Coni suggested making a set of Steampunk-influenced recolors for the Midnight series, and I ran with it.

This one is a little more extensive than Recolor Pack 1; in addition to base textures, walls and floors, we recolored monitors, bedding, cushions, door glass, clock faces, and even the deco uniforms in the lockers. The entire aesthetic has been completely redone.

There are a total of 10 walls, 10 floors, and 10 base textures divided into two "families", along with a set of fences for each base texture. Since the base texture is the backbone of every object in the set, one recolor allows you to recolor around 200 (and growing every day) objects. As all of the base recolors for each "family" use the same texture for the keypad and border/base part of the map, you can mix and match them.

Additionally, there are three chair/cushion recolors, three Maxis bedding recolors, three bedding recolors for the camping/Midnight on the Surface bedding, three deco uniform recolors, four clock face recolors, nine door glass recolors, and one set of monitor recolors for every major monitor texture (Cryo Lab, Sexlab, Surface (datapads), Crew Quarters, Geolab, and Mess Hall).

The bronze family has more of a glowing bronze/gold aesthetic, whereas the copper family is more reddish. How will you decorate your space station, science lab, or evil lair? You decide.

Note: this is a recolor pack only. The furniture sets must be downloaded separately.

Coni for the idea, for most of the work on the base textures, for the uniform textures, and for probably a dozen other things I forgot. This one's for you, sister.

Here's everything you get with the recolor pack:

Application:

I did some floor-to-ceiling recolors of some of the sets to illustrate the beauty and versatility of this recolor pack.

Main cryo lab- uses Copper 1

Cryo Control room- uses Bronze 2

Coolant chamber- uses Copper 4

Decontamination chamber- uses Bronze 1 (radiation suit storage), Copper 5 (showers), and Bronze 3 (locker rooms)

Crew quarters- uses Bronze 4 (bedroom) and Copper 3 (bathroom)
